A while ago i read some where on here that there is a place where you can store your boat on your trailer close to the lake , perhaps it was at poor richards ? Can't seem to find it now. If any one knows of such a place & the cost please let me know.  Oh & does any one know the cost of leaving the boat in the water at marina ?   My buddy & i are thinking of getting a boat but wanted to check on some of the costs before we do . Thanks in advance Paul

Poor Richards has boat storage. At least they used to. Erie Port Authority has a boat yard near Lampe. $250 per 6 month season. If your considering keeping your boat in a slip, don't forget to take into consideration the cost of keeping the hull bottom painted. Also, consider how far away you live from the marina. If you get a call from the dock master stating that there is a problem with your boat, you don't want to be too far from the marina. Maybe that's just my feeling on the matter. Then again, that's what insurance is for I guess.

On that note.  Where would you recommend getting some hull work and painting done in/near Erie?

Or you can take your boat over to the beach south of Beach 11 and clean the bottom yourself.

We are looking at an aluminum boat hull, would you still have to worry about painting the bottom ?  Never thought about the call from the dock master. We live in the  pgh area so by time we got there the boat would  probably be on the bottom !  Thanks for all the replies   Paul

Uncle Johns campground charges $1 per day. I keep a 17 foot boat there and it is less than a mile from the Elk Creek access.
