I love to fish with minnows, and was wondering what is the best minnow lure out there. I'm looking info on realistic lure, and one that produces for all types of fish.

My standout lures this year have been a rapala F-3 in chrome and a HJ-6 in metallic silver.  I've caught bluegill, perch, crappie, rainbow, largemouth, smallmouth, walleye, and sauger on the smaller one, and laregmouth, walleye, and sauger on the HJ.  The X-Rap is a good producer too if the fish are aggressive.

Have any of you guys tried the KICKTAIL MINNOW? The action it has is amazing. Its very expensive as well. Im just wondering wether or not the thing actually does what they advertise. If youve never seen this thing check it out here...

Rapala Tail Dancer....a close second is the P-Chip but it is only locally made. I picked one up at the convention center.

My favorite artificial is a Rapala J9 or J11. My favorite for jig fishing is the GULP 3" minnow. I recieved some for fathers day this year from the wife and kids so i had to give them a try. In my opinion they work as well as live minnows maybe better because with a dab of super glue will stay on for multiple fish. Have caught walleye, pike, bass, perch, crappies, etc on them. I am still in disbelief how well they work.

Try a silver 1/32oz microspoon, with a black beadhead. Will catch everything that swims, at a price you wont believe.

If you fishing on top Zoom Flukes for sure they will produce all sorts of fish also another really good lure on top is a white Magnum Flipping Tube rigged texas rigged with no weight. Sometimes fish will take a tube on top due to it's smaller profile if they are being picky. If I'm going a little deeper a Rapala Husky Jerk can't be beat.

What size Countdown do you use?  I have a CD-3 that I never fish with because whenever I do, I get about 1 in 3 casts that it behaves like it should, usually getting a hook stuck on the lip or tangled around the line.  Even when it does work, it's action leaves alot to be desired.  I normally try it for about 5 minutes then switch back to an F-3 instead.

Change the hooks to the next smaller size. That should fix the problem.

Check out storms hybrid lures.  I always try to have a couple on me, they wear out faster than hard baits but in my opinion look 10 times better coming though the water.

My favorite minnow lure is a rapala F9 in silver/black.  If I'm fishing for largemouth in a lake, I use an F13 a lot of the time, and if I'm fishing in a smaller stream for trout or smallmouth I drop down to an F5 or F7.  I've caught a lot of crappies on F5's.

All of these have there place and all can be deadly under the right circumstances.  Lucky Craft Pointer, Smithwick Rogue, HJ and XRAP, Fluke, MoMoney Swimbait, 4" white tube with a Kalins Darter Head.  I don't have an order I would put them in, they all work well. I believe it is more how you rig them and fish them rather than the action that they each have.  Generally when I am bass fishing (lm or sm), I have 2-3 Plano 3700's filled with stick baits in every color possibly imaginable.  They are my number one search bait, be they hard or soft, plastic or wood...  There is a reason why KVD many times has been successful locating fish when other tournament anglers can't, and stick baits are a big part of that success.
