Hey guys, hopefully you might be able to give me some feedback.

I use size 16 curved hooks for a lot of patterns for steelhead.

Been using 1X fine wires and they bend so frign easy and loose so many fish because of it. I've tried Daiichi and Umpqua so far and theyre about the same..
What strength of hook do you guys use that dont bend so easy??
and where do you get them from?
                                                        thanks. -Elliot

No fine wire!

Like mote said, 2X heavy is the way to go! Those are fine-wire emerger hooks probably!

Couple strong hooks I like for steelhead:

Daiichi 1650 2x strong egg hook, size 6 for tube flies, size 10 for egg flies. Best egg hook I have ever used.
Tiemco 2488H 2x strong for eggs, size 12 and 14

You can't go wrong with either Daiichi or Tiemco, just make sure the hooks are 2x strong.
Fish erie has TMC 2488H, Mad River Outfitters has the Daiichi 1650 tube/egg hook.

To add to the specific models already mentioned, I tie the majority of my eggs on Dai-riki #135 hooks. Very pleased with them, they come out of the box very, very sharp and take and hold a new point well with a little sharpening after a snag on a rock.
