hello
I am new to fly fishing and was wondering what would be the best flies to start with when fishing the tribs in erie for Steelhead and Salmon in the fall ??

Welcome to the boards
like kjh said many different nymph patterns ,egg patterns in many colors , crystal meth, sucker spawn and streamers in different colors and sizes hope that helps a little

Fresh steelies just crush white zonkers......Stone flies are deadly....and throw in some caddis flies....and of course a good assortment of egg patterns work.

Just about anything works up there.  Nymphs and eggs are your most popular up there.  If its a good day up there with good water level, they will hit just about anything.

Fish the patterns you feel good about when fishing for stocked rainbows. Its that simple, takes the worry out of fly selection. Now you can relax and consentrate on presentation.
