Has anyone been fishing the Beaver?  Haven't fished it yet this year. Everytime I got a day off, it would storm the previous three days so I figured it would be muddy & high.

like I posted above we took the boat to the first dam and hammered sauger, channels, drums and crappie. all on minnows. heading up from the ramp the old wall by the bridge has a ton of fish. we were able to get to the rocks right below the dam.  did well at both places.  that was wed. eve.

fished this river last week...I actually float tripped it with a buddy...started in mahoning river then dumped into the beaver...constant smallmouths and some walleye and cats scattered.  All on jointed rapalas and tubes.  Nothing on live bait.
Good luck..

Buddy and I fished the Beav last night at the dam in New Brighton. Lots of people catching saugers and eyes on curly tails and fatheads. We got about 10 in 2 hours. was really hoping the bite would pick up at sunset but it didnt. Saw a couple sheepsheads and catfish. Someone up by the dam got a 20" Northern. No Bass at all.....

Had a couple of gar follow my plug but no takers. Water was a little stained and low.

Good Luck...

My g/f and I were down there recently and we hammered the "smallies" I caught one that was over 4 lbs. The Gar were there in heavy numbers too.  I had one floating next to my bobber, just staring at it as if it was a long lost friend. My g/f caught a couple Sauger as well and I also caught 3 Sheephead along with all the smallies

I assume the young Gizzard Shad should start showing up soon in the big numbers. I had seen adults for a few week now but not many young.
