Beautiful weekend indeed. Put down the flyrod, left the bike home and headed to Cape Hatteras on Saturday. Fished the Gulfstream On Sunday. Sea was calm and fish were hungry. My son landed a citation sailfish within minutes of the start of fishing. Another bigger one was hooked at the same time, but got off. Five species of fish caught, includeing a citation size tile fish. We limited out on the tile fish and also on amberjack. Also landed yellowfin tuna and false albacore. Monday was another good day, although I stayed on shore. Son reported they traveled about 50 miles from the dock. Sea was a not as calm as it was on Sunday, but not overly rough. Son caught a citation size wahoo. They also caught maui maui, yellowfin and blackfin tuna. A fine time was had by all.
