Anybody go?  Anybody see anything?  Sounds like a needle in a haystack type deal to me, but, maybe I'm wrong.  Anybody shoot one?

couldn't go up because of work but i think unless you live somewere with bears and have time to scout them you would have to be pretty lucky to get one

I'd use an rpg.

Bears are scary.

I guess if I lived in the Northeast part of the state, or somewhere where bears are common, I'd just set up over my garbage cans!

I know of a spot I could most likely kill one and I actually thought about going. This bear is big and has been on the same ridgetop for years. Ive never seen anyone hunt there but me.

I've seen a lot of bear this year.  Probably why rifle and bear season is combined for a few days here.   I just can't find the desire to shoot one.  Roasts can be great.  The straw hats say there are two types of black bear.  Dog bear and Hog bear.  The dog bear has long legs and the meat is horrid.  The hog bear has short legs and the meat is good.  I don't know ...

Anyone get a survey from the PGC asking if you support a spring bear season here in PA ?

PGC trapped one off our land it was a male weighted 458 lbs. 4 years of age. Same they had to trap it, would have been nice in bear season.   But he keeps trying to get into my parents house.

I hope they get a good kill here.  We can hunt them the first Wed- Sat of deer rifle too.   I jmped a big one yesterday.  The track was 6 inches wide.

A friend saw one with its ears tagged one morning, about 5 mile from the town dumpster a few weeks back.  That night, he saw another bear, same size (tagged), one mile from town.  Headed back home for a meal ?  lol

There are only a few things I really have the urge to hunt and bear isn't really one of those things. Deer, Squirrels, Rabbits, phesants, Elk, Mule Deer. Thats pretty much my list.
