I'm not directing this at everybody, so don't get too excited.  But for all the other fishing there is before and after trout season, the amount of BS stories and anger seems to peak for these 6 weeks.  Please, if you purchased a PBFC hat at one of the outdoor shows back in February for 3 bucks, that does not mean you work for them and don't bow down to the warden like he is your master.  This is just for some fun, but let's get some follow up posts/examples that would reflect some of the absurd behavior we will see soon.

Several years ago at Keystone Lk a little kid walked out on the little dock with his rod after they blew out a thousand pelletheads, Some guy almost had a heart attack and ran out to tell the kid he had to wait to cast his obvioulsy over sized minnow with 20lb test line in the water, now I guess this guy was concerned the kid was gonna clean out all the trout before the he could get to his spot and fish. His reason was that everyone had to wait till the truck left to start fishing, a ridiculous lie. Trout season is a nice tradition for most people lets not let a few goombah's get in the way.

Good luck to everyone, especially the little kids.  All you bigger than little kids, you should remember to mind your manners and let the lil 'uns have their day in the sun.  Best wishes to everybody.

Two words   -   Patience and Tolerance.   They go hand in hand with trout opener.

I absolutely agree with carry in and carry out. people are real slobs and fisherman should know better but time and time again our favorite fishing spots are often all littered up. why is that!! Its great to teach the kids how to fish but its also great to teach them to keep the lakes and streams clean. What impression is left when they see grown adults littering? I also really enjoy cleaning up after all the inconsiderate blowholes. Just what I want to do while out enjoying the day. U know who u are so clean up after urself.

One more thing I love to hear are the guys who say they hate stocked trout, but are the first ones in line and running buckets of fish into the woods to thier secret holes. More power to them but, don't talk the talk if you don't walk it.

Last year the Fish commission stocked Laurel Hill lake right at the boat launch.  There were kids fishing from shore there, and a guy in a wheelchair, with his dad.  These three lunkheads (all grown men) in chest waders wade directly out in front of the handicapped guy and start fishing right in front of him, standing in the water about five yards farther than the handicapped guy can cast.  Fortunately, the handicapped guy and his dad had caught a few before the idiots arrived.  I wanted to tie on a lug nut and start casting for the back of their heads, but I didn't.  One of the most thoughtless things I've seen while trout fishing.

Haven't went trout fishing for 10 years but I'm going out to Laurel Hill just for laughs, been a while since I've stepped on my stringer of trout while wading.  Funny how things change used to look forward to trout season, rabbit season and a host of others, then I got married...

Well those guys were obviously worried that the kids and the handicapped man were gonna clean out all the trout before they could catch one. The same reason guys will take fish into  inches of water and dump them out instead of putting them in or near holes, they're worried. Lets hope that the inconsiderate, irresponsible, warden butt-kissing guys will stay home or for once go trout fishing without tottally embarrassing themselves.

Maby years ago I was 10 and my little brother was 9,fishing Millers Run on first Sunday.Had two 30 years old scumbag drunks get in between my little bro and the 2 foot he had to spare against a bridge overpass. There were lots of other areas to fish since it was around noon.He hadn't caught anything anyway in the 6" riffle in an hour or so of fishing.Me,my older brother and dad were shocked.Dad told the guys they can have the whole stream for their precious trout from bucket and asked them why they could do such a thing to a little kid.Their response was its a free country and they can fish anywhere they want,if you don't like it tough.Since then all my family has avoided first weekend of trout and the camping out morons who like it.Would rather wait to salmon fish in Erie in summer without the crowds.Anyway, guys like that are the reason fisherman get a bad rap and land is being posted at an alarming rate.My 2 cents.

It's all about the new emerging religion that all too many people in most walks of life are participating in and worshiping. It's called "Me-ism". Hurray for me and the hell with you and everybody else. Manners, far play, character, morality, honesty and brotherhood all get thrown out the window and "I", "ME" am the center of attention. Get what you can regurdless of the effect on someone else.

Just my nickles worth(two cents does't do it anymore)!

I will head down at some point today, without even taking a rod.  I just like to watch the jockeying for position.  I did my fishing yesterday, chasing muskies, I was the only boat on the water.

People have lost sight of what fishing is all about.  It's about enjoying nature.  It's about spending time with friends and family.  It's about not being at work or stuck in traffic or standing in line at the store.  It's about peace and quiet.  Catching fish is just a bonus.

My statement has always been, "I don't like trout fishing as much as I like the places trout fishing takes me."

Im from nj and it is funny how all these men have the orvis vest and waders for one dam day.1000$ worth of stuff for one day. I will not fish the first day ever. There are so many asses it is unreal. I was involed in a fist fight years ago when i was in my twenties. It was with 2 grown men that jumped in front of my godson. I let them know and they got real hostile with me. I had my brother inlaw take my godson home and confronted these 2 idiots. Lucky for me my old man taught me to box at a young age. I ended up knocking them both out and spent the day at the police station only to be let go thanks to the witnesses that came to my defense. Im 37 now and i tend to walk away from things like this. But i still question why someone would not realize that children come first PERIOD. Their is no better joy than seeing a father and son catching their first fish.
