Anyone fishing by Alcosan lately?  Is it safe to anchor there or is drifting the only way to fish it?

Been there a number of times mainly in the fall, if the flow rate is high or ramping up you'll need to reset a little further away.  I would not want to take a dunking and have to try to swim to shore in that area.

Thanks.  I take it large mouth, smallmouth and white bass are in there.  Any walleye or sauger?

I fish it in the fall and have caught walleye, sauger, wipers, flatheads and smallmouths.  Fun place when the conditions are right.

I've caught some awesome fish in that area. I work crankbaits through that rough current and have caught some nice walleyes. We are buying a new boat this week and I will for sure be up there soon.

Fished there about two weeks ago. Used minnows and caught a few white bass. The action was slow and usually picks up later in the summer and fall. Have not seen the clouds of bait fish usually present when the fishing is great. With all the rain lately, don't plan on another visit until the rivers clear up. The Allegheny has been much better. Picked up alot of smallies trolling the shorelines up from the point.
