Here is a list I’ve been putting together as a reference for the newcomers to Erie. Hopefully this will be useful and informative. I know we get a lot of threads come fall and winter about “cheap places to stay” so I’ll try to, but not limit this to the closest and most affordable places in the area. Moderators can feel free to “sticky” this if you find this useful.

If not, here is how I see this working. People can add information I may have missed by posting in the thread. I will update my original post with their suggested information so the original post is always the most accurate.
Please don’t quote the original post as that will clutter the thread. If and when a thread is made about finding a place to stay in Erie, all that would be needed is to post a link to this thread.

Excellent post should be put at the top and nailed there.  Answers sooo many of the recurring questions.  Now if you could just get a list together showing the EXACT days the run will start, when they will reach the Legion pool, Follies, Sterrettania, and Mckean we may be on to something here.

I have to think that if an adult can log onto the internet and find this site then they should be able to find a map of erie and some hotels.

Please, no "Version II" - afraid of what it might say.

Avonia Tavern - everything is good, and it's a great place to catch the game after you're done fishing.

many of those hotels/motels listed also offer a fisherman discount if you ask for it.
great list!

Green Garden Tavern has the best wings of any place I've found in Erie.

Rum Runners has very good food. Very good crowd on Friday nights as well.

Do you know if the Riviera Motel is one of those because I am staying there this weekend and didn't ask about a discount?
