bings, At this point in the game, I thing general consensus is that there is no difference in durability between 2 and 4 piece. Some say that within a given model (6wt 9' Sage Launch, for example), the 4 piece may tend to feel a BIT stiffer than the 2. For the entry-level fisherman, that difference probably wont amount to a hill of beans. The biggest difference is portability. And on that note, I've never met the guy with a 4 piece that wished he'd have gotten the 2 piece. I have, however, met several guys with 2 piece models that wish they'd have dropped the extra money for the 4. I myself own 5 rods, 4 4-piece and 1 2-piece. I've never had issues with any of them, but I will say that the 2-piece is a short 7' rod, so its 3'-6" tube is just a foot longer than my 10' 7wt's 2'-6" tube. Just food for thought. As far as the rod...looks good. Harry used to fish for steel with that rod. I opted for a 7, but you really shouldn't have any major issue with being under-gunned with a 9' 6wt.
