I was down at 20 mile over the weekend and saw 2 guys get into some trouble fishing the posted area. The one told me that he read in the Valley News Dispatch back in pittsburgh that 2 miles of stream were going to be opened up to the public. I was also told be a few other guys on the stream that they heard the same thing. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of what part of the stream these guys could of been talking about?

Thanks

Well its definatly not the area right above the rt5 bridge thats for sure. I live around there and know of most the landowners. All the posted land, that is in PA anyways, will remain posted. The creek that is posted south of rt5 is not even 1 mile. I did see a few guys fishing that area in the early afternoon and wondered why the elite fishing club that controls that section would be here so early with so little fish?  The ones at the falls by the old iron bridge all looked small, all 5 of them. Thats what I could see from the road. By the sounds of it the west side tribs had more of a run than the east side.

Ha.

So, newspapers are printing that the PFBC is opening up parts of streams.  I wonder if the newspaper cut the press release down skipping some information, like they sometimes do?

Now we've got idiots not being able to read, either a newspaper or a map, and making assumptions, which lead to them getting busted for trespassing.  I can just see the conversation between "anglers" taking place.

"That's a no trespassing sign"
"no man, I read in the paper that the PFBC is opening up a bunch of 20 mile creek".
"Yea, but that sign is still there".
"They probably just didn't take them down yet.  I'm sure we can fish up there, there's nobody even around.  It was in the paper."

I'd say they earned that fine.

This is just a suggestion for those that are making long drives and wondering about this. Call the WCO at walnut and they will tell you the spots that have been opened up.

no, the fact that Donny Beaver has to juice people to fish for public water is sickening
