A 12 lb. river walleye is gonna be a VERY large fish...at least around 34". I caught a Lake Erie walleye that was a little over 30", and it weighed out at 9 lbs. on a digital scale, which I check out with exact weights every once in a while to make sure it's accurate. This year, I've caught quite a few walleyes over 24", but all were under 30", at various places on the Allegheny. !2 lb. river walleyes? Sure there's a few around....very few! I'd like to see one that was weighed by someone and not just guestimated, That would be a true river trophy indeed! Hell, a 10 lber. would be a true river trophy for that matter! Conditions in a river are tough for walleyes to live long enough to get to those sizes.
