Has anyone heard or have any recent reports on the whereabouts of those stacked fish North of Ashtabula ? Oh let me guess "they're in the water dude"! Are they still there or have they moved into PA waters? Any info is better than no info unless its the wrong info!!!

Has anyone been fishing out of the Nut? Planning on FINALLY getting back up for a 3 day weekend this week and prefer to launch out of there. Last I heard the walleye were in the 70's and perching was good in the 50-60's. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Check out my report on the reports page.  The bite has slowed a bit, but the fish are certainly still there.  We marked them hanging real close to the bottom in about 65 FOW over 70 FOW.  I think the front that moved in may have messed with the bite somewhat, but we still managed 15 or 16 fish by 3 pm. yesterday.  With the stability in the weather, I look for this weekend to be a slaughter.  Tight Lines.

CB:  Need any of my harnesses for the weekend?  I Handed it to Indian Summer yesterday! LOL

Try these numbers
00-05N and the 55-49W

Thanks moose, I'll be heading up tomorrow (Lord willing) I hope the eyes have moved East. I didn't buy an Ohio license this year (yet) so I'll be staying in PA waters. Looks like the forcast is for 1-3's all weekend, hope that means 1-3's and not 5-7's!

CB, the boy and I tied up some mighty fine looking harnesses with your stuff. Are they guaranteed to work? lol. He's pretty excited to try them out. The only negative is my wife wants to know if I'll be making jewelry since I have all those "pretty" beads and shiny things. I told her the barbs were to keep the earings from falling out!

HAHAHAHAHAHA hey with the points you could hang em anywhere you wanted as well...might want to get out the rubbing alcohol first though...lol

If there are walleyes in an area you will do well with those bulldog.  Thats the main thing with any lure...if theres no fish there to catch, is anything gonna work?

Ill be in Bula Friday-Sunday.

Bulldog, there is a decent school of fish off between the point right now in 72 to 82 fow.  I know a couple guys that have gotten pretty easy limits there in the last couple days.

Well, we were questioning our sanity heading for the lake with a forecast of 3-5's on Friday. We got there and the biggest wave we saw all day was probably a 3 footer, it was almost flat for the best part of the day. Had englishsettersrus ride along for the day, if you ever need a ride along he's a good one. We ended up perching for most of the day and trolled a little. Finished up with 103 perch and 2 Walleye. Had some motor trouble on the way in which cut our 3 day trip to a 1 day. Didn't get a chance to try out from the point. Hope I can get this @#@$!*& motor figured out.

Went out of Ashtabula yesterday. Caught 13 eyes, lost 2. Boated the biggest eye I have ever seen. A 12 pounder. Alot of folks were heading back in early in the morning with their limit. We fished til just after noon and decided we had enough of the rough stuff and went back in. Had an opportunity to use some crawler harnesses with blades purchased from Carpetbagger (a buddy that I invited along bought them from CB and tied up his own harnesses). Those are some seriously nice blades.

CB, have to tell you, we picked up a couple of eyes on Friday. My son was really proud, catching the biggest one on the harness that he tied himself. The only bad thing is that the one I tied had a knack for catching sheep! LOL.

Thanks again for the supplies and advice!

It sounds like everyone had a great time  "CATCHING WALLEYES !!!" I'm jealous, didnt get the opportunity to make the trip "AGAIN !!!" In 1969 we landed MAN on the MOON but in the year 2008 with all the cyber high tech equipment and all the brainy techno geeks we have, Why can't we get an accurate weather/wave forecast ??????????????  Catch'em while you can !! Be safe & successful on the water!

So much for 1-3's & 5-15knot winds LOL . Well heres my 20 minute fishing experince / waste of gas from Saturday Aug 16th , Started out from walnut access at 9am took 50 minutes to get out 13 miles in front of elk started trolling SE in 75FOW landed 1 fish on big dipsey on a 3.5 setting 200 ft back . Buddy lost his guts in about 65 FOW and headed in after 20 minutes of setting / unsetting lines. Waves building to 3-5 feet with a 6footer thrown in for good measure.  Saw steelking land a steelhead at walnut access when taking boat out . That was the highlight . Hopefully fish are cooperative this weekend . Tight lines DC

So I hear, but when you only run 2 rods and get 2 limits in and hour and a half, how much better does it need to be?  Couple of 12 lbers in the mix.

You're right. It doesn't get any better than that. 12lber's are huge fish. Personally, i dont think i've ever seen one that big. How long were they?

The 2 that I,ve caught are not really any longer then a 10 pounder ..  33-34 in ...  but the head and girth WOW 18-19in girth..... hold a 20" fish and a 24" fish in the other hand I'ts about same comparison as a 29"to a 33"   12.6lb. & 11.14lb last year. This year 11.5lbs is it.. circle the perch packs  ....
